The tally of victims from the UPS cargo plane that burst into flames and plummeted has reached 13, as confirmed by latest statements.
Mayor's Statement
Traveling to the Union’s memorial service, I was informed of a 13th person that died as a consequence of the plane incident,” stated the municipal leader in a social media post. “My prayers is with the loved ones, associates and colleagues of all who were lost in this week’s calamity. We will endure this together.”

Inquiry Findings
National investigators revealed that the jet’s wing burst into flames and an engine separated just after takeoff from the airfield, causing the aircraft to fall and explode into a blaze.
The NTSB announced it is probing the plane’s upkeep logs, which was in Texas for repairs weeks prior to the incident.
Aviation information revealed the jet was on the runway in the Texas city from early September to mid-October.
“We are cognizant that this plane was present in that city,” stated an official on the following day, not giving a precise date range. “We will examine every piece of repairs that was performed, even the Texas period, straight to the day of the journey.”
Recovery of Critical Evidence
The pilot’s recorder and information unit were found, and the motor was found on the tarmac.
The units – known as black boxes – were built to withstand accident forces and severe heat from infernos, and they looked to be undamaged when located within the wreckage. Investigators will reviewing information from the black boxes.
The plane’s final data recordings indicated an height of 475 ft and a velocity of 210 mph prior to the crash.
Maintenance Background
According to FAA records from last month, a fissure on a part within the fuel container needed fixes.
Headquartered in Singapore ST Engineering, which indicated it provides structural repairs for the company’s aircraft and manages a repair facility in San Antonio, declined to speak, but expressed it would work closely when officials approached it.
Operations Resume
In the meantime, UPS Worldport services continued that evening with its overnight or nighttime process, spokesperson Jim Mayer stated. Each of the three tarmacs at Louisville Muhammad Ali international airport were also reopened.

Community Response
A memorial was conducted on the late afternoon of 6 November by the area labor union, which represents staff at the aviation hub, the firm’s biggest shipping facility.
Teamsters Local 89, which stands for UPS workers, began the memorial with a period of reflection at the evening hour, the estimated time of the crash previously.
“This tragedy was so unexpected, so unforeseen,” the official addressed the crowd of two hundred. “No one had a moment to bid farewell to any of those who we have said farewell to.”
